The Davis Vantage VUE is a wireless weather station with in-/outdoor thermometer, in-/outdoor hygrometer, barometer, wind speed and wind direction measurement and a rain gauge. The console shows a lot of additional data like a weather forecast symbol, dew point and wind chill temperature, moon phase, graph of a selected variable, … . The console can be connected via RS-232 or USB to a PC or to a Weather Server like Meteohub (WeatherLink datalogger required). The maximum distance between main and sensor units is about 300m by ideal conditions. The Wireless Sensor Unit ISS (Integrated Sensor Suite) combines a temperature and humidity-sensor in a passive vented solar radiation shield, an anemometer with a wind vane and a rain gauge with self-emptying tipping bucket. A solar panel (0.5W) charges a super capacitor for power at night (a lithium battery supplies backup).
